Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzade held meetings in Caracas with the executives of the ministries of Industry, Science, Agriculture, Energy and Tourism of the South American nation, in order to strengthen collaboration, the IRNA news agency highlighted here.
Nasirzade and the host Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jimenez, examined on Thursday the possibilities to expand ties in the fields of research, exchange of professors and students, geology, cartography and use of technological advances in areas such as nanotechnology.
Meanwhile, the meeting with the Venezuelan Minister of Industries and National Production, Alex Saab, allowed for the examination of interests in joint investment, the promotion of exports and the development of business ties, especially with the private sector in Venezuela, the media reported.
Other important topics of the dialogue were the willingness to negotiate a preferential tariff agreement and the creation of industrial and productive infrastructure for the benefit of both parties.
The talks with the Venezuelan Minister of Mines, Héctor Silva, focused on the issue of joint investments, the generation of wealth, planning and monitoring of projects for the sector, the report stated.
Likewise, they expressed the willingness to use the capacity of the private sector to transfer technology and create new processing plants.
According to the source, the conversations with the Venezuelan Minister of Agriculture, Menry Fernández, addressed issues related to trade, the manufacture of vaccines for livestock, the production of seeds and the fight against pests, in addition to the manufacture of pesticides and agricultural equipment.
Meanwhile, the financing of joint projects, the facilitation of banking and financial exchanges, as well as the preferential tariff agreement, were the main topics of the dialogue with the Venezuelan leader of Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade, Anabel Pereira.
Also, the heads of Electric Energy Jorge Márquez and Tourism Leticia Gómez had meetings with Nasirzade, who arrived in Caracas last Tuesday to lead her country’s delegation to the High Level Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation.
