Social and union organizations in the United Workers Front (FUT) called for the anti-government demonstration to be held this Thursday from 16:00 (local time) in Quito.
The president of the Confederation of Unitary Class Organizations of Workers (Cedocut), Edwin Bedoya, said: “We are calling to fight Noboa’s neoliberal policies, which have worsened the current economic crisis in which the people are living.”
Last week there was a rally in this capital, which gathered hundreds of citizens demanding the resignation of the ruler, due to his ineffective management of the multidimensional crisis suffered by Ecuador, with insecurity, blackouts, and unemployment.
The mobilization ended with confrontations between the demonstrators and the Police, who finally dispersed the participants with tear gas after several tires were set on fire.
The “Alianza de Organizaciones por los Derechos Humanos” denounced through its profile on X, that it received reports of at least six persons detained with excessive use of force during the protest.
In this context, Radio Pichincha revealed the Ministry of Defense’s millionaire and gigantic acquisition of tear gas bombs.
