The Environment and Natural Resources Ministry (MARN) called on the population to be prepared for these risks, as more rains are expected to fall, prompted by a frontal system that will approach the country tonight.
The Ministry predicted high probabilities of landslides and rock falls in the Tacuba, Apaneca-lamatepec, El Balsamo, and Jucuaran mountain ranges, the San Vicente volcano, the Berlin-Tecapa volcanic complex, and the Conchagua volcano.
Authorities are advising vehicle drivers and the population to remain vigilant and, if possible, avoid several roads in most parts of the country, including the Los Chorros pass, where landslides and rockfalls could occur.
