Cecilia Valdes, director of Institutional Communication at the Ministry of Informatics and Communications (MINCOM), emphasized the importance of creating secure passwords for social media, personal devices, and bank credentials.
Valdes also announced plans for skills competitions and technology fairs involving various sectors across the country. Cuba’s cybersecurity efforts focus on safeguarding critical infrastructure, including industry, health, energy, and transportation.
Special attention is being given to the protection of the digital economy, according to Daniel Perea, director general of the Computer Network Security Office.
MINCOM leads Cuba’s cybersecurity initiatives in coordination with the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) and the Ministry of the Interior (MININT).
