Israeli aggressions threaten peace, Syria warns the UN

Damascus, Nov 20 (Prensa Latina) The constant Israeli wars spread chaos and threaten peace and security in the Middle East region and the world, Syrian delegate to the United Nations, Qusay al-Dahhak, denounced on Wednesday as quoted by the press here.

Israeli forces’ crimes would not have continued without the support provided by the United States and some of its allies, in addition to their tireless efforts to prevent war criminals from being held accountable and from escaping punishment, Al-Dahhak said while addressing the United Nations Security Council (UNGA) on the situation in the Middle East.

The Syrian representative considered it unacceptable that the Council remains hostage to the political decision of a power that has decided to prioritize the Israeli interests at the expense of the region’s security and the people’s blood.

The diplomat stated that the more aggressions Tel Aviv perpetrates in its efforts to liquidate the just Palestinian issue, erase history, and change geography, the more the number of people will increase in a world who stand in solidarity and support for the Palestinian cause.

The diplomat denounced the almost daily attacks on Syrian territory and noted that they kill civilians, including women and children, and destroy buildings in residential neighborhoods housing diplomatic headquarters and missions, and UN offices.

Al-Dahhak called on the UNGA to implement its relevant resolutions immediately, particularly Resolutions 242, 338, and 497, to ensure the end of the Israeli occupation of Arab lands in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian State and its full membership in the United Nations.
