The president of the largest union in the French agricultural world, Arnaud Rousseau, said the nationwide protests will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, together with the Young Farmers (JA).
We will denounce all the obstacles that affect our activity, Rousseau underlined in declarations to the Franceinfo channel.
On Monday, the Fnsea and the JA resumed demonstrations and road blockades with tractors to demand the fulfillment of the 70 measures promised by the government last January, when the union stopped a movement that put the country and its authorities in check.
Yesterday, the second most influential union in the sector, the Rural Coordination (CR), joined the protests, which continues to mobilize on Wednesday with the threat of ‘sowing chaos’ on French soil so that their demands are heard.
In this regard, the Minister of Agriculture, Annie Gennevard, condemned the damage caused yesterday in the northern town of Guéret and in the southern town of Agen, where violent acts took place.
Protesting against the EU-Mercosur agreement, expressing problems and claiming progress are legitimate, but harassing people and blocking the country are unacceptable, she warned.
