Cuban Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Angel Arzuaga told Prensa Latina that the first shipment arrived in Cuba on Monday and during the course of this week a second donation will be made, both consisting of food, while other deliveries are organized.
The Máximo Gómez Association of Cuban Residents, as well as other Dominican organizations, are also involved in collecting aid for Cuba, which has been hit in recent days by two hurricanes and earthquakes, which have damaged houses, agriculture, and the power sector, among other economic areas.
In this regard, the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) urged its members to support “the Cuban brothers, who have historically been in solidarity with our nation and with humanity.”
In a statement, the ADP instructed its Grassroots Units in all educational centers to collect days in which teachers, students and their families participate.
