According to official sources, the group will include representatives of hotel chains, travel agencies, and two emblematic Cuban sports figures: Mijain Lopez, five-time Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling, and Javier Sotomayor, multi-champion and world high jump record holder.
An Activity to Promote Cuba as a Tourist Destination will be held during the fair, in which the athletes will meet with the specialized press, tour operators, and entrepreneurs.
This activity joins the measures taken by both countries to strengthen cultural, tourist, and commercial exchanges, such as resuming the direct flight between Beijing and Havana or Cuba’s announcement of visa exemption for Chinese tourists.
CITM is the country’s first branded international travel exhibition and the largest professional fair of its kind in Asia.
Since 2001, the event has brought together tourism institutions, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cultural institutions, museums, and other companies related to culture and tourism in China, as well as participants from more than 100 countries and regions around the world.
