Presidents of Bolivia and China meet in Brazil

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nov 19 (Prensa Latina) The presidents of Bolivia and China, Luis Arce and Xi Jinping, respectively, held a bilateral meeting here today, on the sidelines of the Summit of the 20 largest economies (G20) in the world.

“Today in Brazil, in the framework of the G20 Leaders Summit, we held a pleasant and fruitful meeting with brother President Xi Jinping,” the dignitary of the Plurinational State, wrote in his social networks.

Arce attended the meeting accompanied by a delegation composed by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Celinda Sosa; Hydrocarbons and Energy, Alejandro Gallardo, Economy and Finance, Marcelo Montenegro; and Development Planning, Sergio Cusicanqui.

The presidents of Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos, Armin Dorgathen, and of the Central Bank of Bolivia, Edwin Rojas, also participated, according to sources in the delegation.

At the end of October of this year, Arce assured that after the meeting of the Joint Economic and Commercial Commission with China, progress is being made in an investment agenda, lithium industrialization and exports to China.

The President affirmed that in this meeting “(…) we made progress in a work agenda that includes the export of Bolivian products to the Chinese market, investments, lithium, Brics and other issues for the benefit of our peoples”.

With 23 million tons of lithium, Bolivia is the largest holder of certified and certified reserves in the world.
