New Delhi, Nov 19 (Prensa Latona) — India and China have discussed the progress in restoring their bilateral ties following an agreement on full disengagement and the resolution of border issues.

During a meeting in Brazil on the sidelines of the Group of 20 (G20) Summit, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyan Jaishankar and Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, talked about the next steps regarding the October 21 agreement, according to diplomatic sources.

Jaishankar welcomed the implementation of the agreement as planned, stating that it would facilitate the management of peace and tranquility in the border areas. He noted that, as directed by their leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping, the meeting took place, and a meeting of the special representatives is scheduled for a later date.

The Indian Foreign Minister indicated that there has been progress and discussions in this direction. He also recalled his previous meeting at the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, where contributions made during that event and at the G20 in Brazil significantly shaped the final results.jrr/arm/mem/lrd
