According to the Head of the National Seismological Service, Enrique Arango, the phenomenon was located at coordinates 19.75 north latitude and 77.23 west longitude, some 20.51 kilometers southwest of Pilon, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
On the 10th, another 6.7 magnitude tremor occurred in the municipality of Pilon, Granma province, which shook Granma, Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba, and was felt even from Camaguey to Cienfuegos, in the center of the Cuba.
Some 48 hours later, 1,966 aftershocks were recorded, of which 71 were presumably perceptible.
