Their demands are related to the implementation of a 20 percent tax on agricultural areas with a value of more than one million pounds sterling (about 1.3 million dollars at the current exchange rate), a measure that, according to the Government, would affect some 500 farms.
However, the National Farmers Association warned that it will impact 66 percent of agricultural holdings after its presumed entry into force in April of next year.
