Gonzalez, president of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), who is on a working visit to this country, highlighted the importance of the actions taken by the different organizations in solidarity with Cuba in Russia.

His visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba (RSFC), an organization whose first presidents were significant figures of the 20th century like Yuri Gagarin and Ernesto Che Guevara.

Gonzalez noted that the RSFC has been one of the most active associations since its origin, contributing to solidarity with Cuba, particularly in advocating against the US blockade.

The ICAP´s president also mentioned that the solidarity movement in Russia is regional, fostering connections between the Russian organizations and Cuban provinces, thereby uniting solidarity efforts across the island.
