Closing this three-day event, attended by more than six thousand grassroots delegates from all over the country, from the Cuartel de la Montaña, where the remains of Commander Hugo Chávez rest, the president described this first chapter as a total success.
In this sense, he called for “a second hot chapter of the Historical Bloc to define the route and the organizational model.”
Maduro recalled that at the beginning of September, on the occasion of celebrating the electoral victory of July 28, he made a commitment to the people to promote an inclusive transversal dialogue to unite the arms and consciences of Venezuela and “write and dream together the future to build and live.”
The idea was to promote a process that was as free and profound as possible to hear the words of the men and women on the street who live and fight for the country, he said, and pointed out that “it is very important because we are like the fundamental line of defense of the existence of Venezuela.”
The president highlighted the methodology, the scope of the debate, with real, humble, truthful people, who “the only thing they want is this land, their family and their gigantic love for the right of the Bolivarian Republic to exist and develop.”
He said that there were more than three million 600 thousand men and women who participated, and “we could say that it is the most free, equal and nutritious debate that we have convened together with the people of Venezuela in 25 years to think about the future.”
This congress convened for the five generations and seven real forces in expansion has had an extraordinary first chapter in the process, methodology, in the ideas and results of each of the work tables, he stressed.
He estimated that it was extraordinary because we have come to seek and build the country, no one has come to seek a position, but to change everything that has to be changed to bury the old world of “puntofijismo”, the bourgeois state and build the new.
We came -said Maduro- to govern this country in a project of sovereignty and national realization and “this Great Congress is a process of definition, of articulation of the popular forces.”
He assured that he has ready the government program 2025-2031, thought and devised by the people, and that “I will execute in the depth of our country,” once the next one is sworn in by the National Assembly (Parliament) on January 10.
The general coordinator of the congress, Ricardo Menéndez, pointed out that 1,052 interventions were made “of high quality, without any type of restriction or coercion,” and 1,634 proposals were presented, in a total of 101,587 base assemblies at a national level.
