Cuban Ambassador to Italy, Mirta Granda, Consuls in Rome and Milan, Arasay D’Angelo and Marcos Hernandez, respectively, and a large representation of the several associations of Cubans here, are attending the meeting.
The meeting will focus on new measures adopted in Cuba on citizenship, migration, and foreigners’ affairs, an update of the regulations on consular procedures, and the investment opportunities offered by the island to its subjects abroad.
They will also address current developments in Cuba, a victim of the US government’s sanctions and the unjust inclusion of Cuba in Washington devised list of State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT).
Participants will assess how to better respond to such punishment, including further dissemination of counter arguments in social media, describing the effects of the US economic war and telling the world about Cuban reality.
The aftermath of hurricanes Oscar and Rafael, the two earthquakes that struck eastern Cuba, and solidarity initiatives in support of the victims will be in their agenda.
Delegates will discuss a final declaration supporting Cuba, to be issued at the end of the meeting, on November 17.
