“We confirm to our Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic nation that leader Abdel Aziz Saeed al-Minawi, nicknamed Abu al-Saeed, and the group’s foreign relations chief Rasmi Youssef Abu Issa, nicknamed Abu Issam, were killed in the Israeli strike”, the resistance group said in a statement issued on Saturday.
The statement said other Islamic Jihad members were also killed in the strike on the movement’s civilian offices and residences in Damascus, and added that the bodies of the deceased were pulled out from the rubble early Saturday.
We are proud of our martyred leaders and reaffirm that the crimes of the Israeli enemy will only increase our steadfastness and determination to continue the resistance, the statement indicated.
The Syrian Defense Ministry informed that Israeli strikes on Damascus and its suburbs on Thursday killed at least 15 people and injured 16 others, mostly women and children.
