ANT will also invest approximately 120 million dollars more to support productive projects, thereby strengthening the rural and economic development of the country.
The aforementioned programs will be executed thanks to agreements signed with the Special Assets Society (SAE) and the Victims’ Reparation Fund, with a view to expedite the purchase of land from these entities and provide resources to compensate victims. Director of the ANT, Felipe Harman, explained that in order to achieve these goals, the agreement with both entities has already been signed.
According to the source, the acquisition of lands for the Reparation Fund is linked to the Government’s decision to allocate the assets handed over as part of the demobilization of former paramilitary forces, the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, so that they can be effectively used for reparation.
On the other hand, the Agency and the Victims Unit identified properties in the Fund’s inventory that were illegally occupied by people proxies of criminal groups and will proceed to purchase those assets to deliver them to peasant families.
In addition, credits will be facilitated to projects related to food production.
“The Agrarian Reform does not end with the delivery of land, but with the planting of crops,” Harman said.
