Foreign Minister Yván Gil pointed out on his Telegram channel that more than a year after the genocide in Gaza, and following more than 75 years of colonialism and imperialism, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela “commemorates, along with the Palestinian people, the 36th anniversary of the Palestine Declaration of Independence.”
The date was proclaimed by the Palestine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat on November 15, 1988, in Algiers, the capital of Algeria.
Gil affirmed that this date recalls the Palestinians’ long struggle for their liberation and “stresses our obligation to support their cause, which is also the cause of all humanity.”
