The award will be presented during a ceremony at the India-Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Summit scheduled for November 19-21, 2024 in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana.
Dominica’s President Sylvanie Burton will confer Modi the award, the Associates Times website stated.
The award is an expression of gratitude for Modi’s essential role during the Covid-19 pandemic and his efforts to maintain diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In February 2021, Modi provided 70,000 AstraZeneca vaccines to Dominica, a generous donation from India that also helped other Caribbean nations.
Dominica’s honorary award will be a token of this nation’s gratitude for advancing the shared vision of progress and resilience between New Delhi and Roseau.
