That Declaration was drafted by the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish and proclaimed on November 15, 1988, in Algeria by Yasser Arafat, leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Officially, the 54-minute film will be premiered in December at the New Latin American Film Festival in Havana, according to screenwriter and director Sergio Eguino.

“The common thread is five Palestinians, who live far from their homeland and narrate their experiences in the face of increased interference and genocide perpetrated by Israel for more than 76 years,” Eguino said in an interview with Prensa Latina.

He explained that such life stories, family and friendship relationships, mourning, postponed childhoods, dreams and militancy, are intertwined with the helplessness caused by the distance, despite the constant support that Cuba gives them, and their faith that Palestine will be free.

He also stressed that the interviewees highlighted the expressions of solidarity of the Cuban people and their main leaders, Fidel Castro, Raúl Castro, and current President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
