The Forecasting Center of the Cuban Institute of Meteorology (INSMET) informed that its center is at 15.9 degrees North latitude and 81.7 degrees West longitude.
The forecasting center pointed out that TD 19 has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour with higher gusts, a minimum central pressure of 1004 hectopascals, and is moving westward at 26 kilometers per hour.
It is expected to follow a similar course through the western Caribbean Sea over the next 24 to 48 hours.
Weather forecasters say TD 19 will become a tropical storm later this Thursday and continue to strengthen as it moves toward the warm waters in the Caribbean Sea.
The system’s center is expected to move slowly over the western Caribbean Sea as it approaches the coast of Central America.
