This is the third time that the president of the Republic has visited Guantanamo since the hurricane hit the region last October, the Presidency recalled in its X profile.

When speaking with the population of the town of Quemado de Sabana, in the Guantanamo municipality of Maisí, the president commented on the restoration of power and water services, the distribution of food, and the resumption of the school year, among other actions.

He also highlighted the unity of the people and State institutions in the recovery efforts.

In the community of Sabana, Díaz-Canel visited the paperwork office, which was set up to prepare the documentation of all the people whose homes were damaged.

This is the main problem in this municipality today, where Oscar damaged 995 homes, 22 of which collapsed completely, and 84 have been recovered.
