According to the general director of Cubanacán travel agency, Yadismir Saavedra, the flight run by Rainbow Tour, marked the beginning of weekly arrivals and is of great importance during the peak tourist season, scheduled to begin on November 22.
Katowice is a destination that traditionally returns to Cuba during this period, and from Varadero holidaymakers travel to several cities from the west to the east of the country, especially Havana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Villa Clara, Saavedra added.
The general coordinator of operations at the airport, Yamir Miyares, noted that Poland has become one of Cuba’s tourist-sending countries in recent years, especially during the northern winter season, so the reincorporation of this destination in the tourist hub of Varadero is very positive.
We foresee an average of 77 weekly operations during the peak season, which will close in March 2025 and during which the flow of travelers on such airlines as Sunwing, Transat, Westjet and Air Canada, Condor (Germany), American Airlines and Word Atlantic, (the United States), and Norwind and Rossiya, (Russia), will continue, he pointed out.
Miyares said that the aim is to increase the number of tourists arriving at the resort, and that all the conditions are in place to provide high-quality services.
