Thanh Man and Hernandez agreed that the cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Cuban National Assembly stands out in the general relations between the two countries, referring to the first session of the Interparliamentary Cooperation Committee held recently in Havana.
Thanh Man, who received the Cuban diplomat on the occasion of ending his mandate here, expressed that his counterpart, Esteban Lazo, visited Vietnam in early November, thus demonstrating the strong bond and special solidarity relationship between the two countries that goes beyond all geographical distances.
The Vietnamese parliamentarian affirmed that his country always recalls the sincere support and assistance to Vietnam of the Cuban Communist Party, the State, and the people in the struggle for national liberation, reunification, and the country’s construction and development work.
“This special relationship with high political trust has always been a model in international relations,” Thanh Man underscored and lamented the severe impact of Hurricanes Oscar and Raphael and the two earthquakes that struck eastern Cuba.
He stated that Vietnam was also severely affected by Super Typhoon Yagi and the flooding in the northern provinces, causing severe damage to people and property.
The Cuban ambassador, in turn, expressed gratitude for the support of the National Assembly and its Presidency to better perform his duties and promote and strengthen bilateral ties.
