Former Prime Ministers Dean Barrow (2008-2020) and Said Musa (1998-2008) are promoting the initiative and calling on those who want to donate cash, bank transfers, and goods.
It aims to purchase small generators, solar panels, food, medicines, and other supplies to be distributed to hospitals, centers that care for people with disabilities, and the population in general.
The campaign’s organizers have set up two bank accounts specifically for collecting remittances and have provided a premise to collect material donations.
They also called on the media and influencers to publicize the initiative to reach as many donors as possible.
The Belizean politicians thus joined the international solidarity movement with the Cuban people after the impact of recent natural phenomena and the shortages caused by the hostility of the United States.
