“Peru extends its solidarity to the Cuban government and people for the serious material damage caused by Hurricane Rafael to the agricultural sector, the electrical grid and water supply, and wishes for the early return of all evacuees to their homes,” the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.
It also expressed concern about reports of possible damage after the two earthquakes that shook the country’s southern coast.
It added that the Peruvian Embassy in Cuba is closely monitoring the damage caused and has advised Peruvians who may have been affected to report to their consulate in Havana.
