A press release issued by that organization informs about the holding of an event in the southern city of Naples, with the theme Cuba, reality of a Revolution, during which the current situation in that Caribbean nation was discussed.
In the activity, organized by the Anaic circle in that city, the call for donations was reactivated, in the accounts 11096138 and 37185592 of that association, with IBAN IT09A05018016000011096138 and IT59R076010101600000037185592, respectively.
Marco Papacci, national president of the group, told Prensa Latina that the campaign was launched immediately after Hurricane Oscar hit eastern Cuba on October 20 and was reactivated after Tropical Cyclone Rafael hit the western provinces on November 6.
So far, 23 thousand euros have been collected, contributed by members of that organization’s circles in this European nation, as well as by militants of leftist political organizations and many Italians who for humanitarian reasons are joining this appeal, while financial contributions continue to arrive.
Of that amount, five thousand euros donated directly were delivered in the Caribbean country on November 2 by the director of the Timbalaye project, Ulises Mora, during a ceremony at the Ministry of Culture, after concluding the 10th congress of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba.
Papacci announced that, in the next few days, a representative of Anaic will travel to Cuba to take the remaining part collected so far, which will be delivered to the authorities of the provinces affected by the hurricanes.
