Pila made his statement on his X account, in response to various publications on social networks that claim that there is a new cyclone threatening the Caribbean country.
The Meteorological Institute reported on Friday that Hurricane Rafael will continue to gradually move away from the national territory. However, the Island will continue under its indirect influence.
Rains associated to Rafael will continue to dampen Cuba’s west for the next 12 hours, strongly falling on some localities.
Likewise, sea swells will continue on the northwestern coast until eventually receding.
Hurricane Rafael struck western Cuba on November 5, accompanied by over 100 km winds per hour, causing serious damage in the provinces of Artemisa, Mayabeque and Havana, particularly on agriculture patches, housing, hospital infrastructure and the electrical system.
