According to the Metrópoles portal, at the time of the attack, Gritzbach was accompanied by his girlfriend near the entrance to the airport lobby. One person apparently not related to him was also shot.
Initial information indicates that four hooded suspects got out of a car and shot Gritzbach in the landing area of Terminal Two.
There was a second car supporting the executioners, which was later and reportedly found by the Military Police.
Television media claim that Gritzbach had previously ordered the killing of two members of the PCC criminal group, which in return hit back at him. In March, the businessman signed a collaboration agreement with the Sao Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office.
He also revealed alleged PCC conspiracies and reported acts of extortion involving civil police officers in the São Paulo region.
Located in the municipality of Guarulhos, in Greater São Paulo, the airport complex has an area of 14 square kilometers and its own road access system.
