The Deputy Minister of Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kandya Obezo, previously communicated that the forum is being attended by more than 1,400 delegates from all over the world, including 76 high-level officials, ministers, deputy ministers and international organisations directors, who will seek to promote actions that guarantee the happy development of children and adolescents.
The representative of the Pan American Health Organisation, Gina Tambini, said that the Ministerial Conference is a great opportunity to revitalize the commitments of countries to put an end to violence against children.
At the end of the meeting, which is being held at the Agora Convention Centre, an intergovernmentally negotiated Political Declaration is expected to be adopted, according to WHO, and country commitments to end violence against children and adolescents, among other issues, are expected to be revitalized.
The event, which concludes on Friday, is organized by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Education and Equality and Equity, the Pan American Health Organization, UNICEF and the Government of Sweden.
