The day before, in his first activity in India, Gonzalez held a meeting with a group of leftist leaders, mostly from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the state of Kerala, including M A Baby and Amra Ram, member of the Lok Sabha (lower house of Parliament), as well as ND Gupta, member of the upper house of the legislature for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
According to diplomatic sources, among the main topics discussed was the possibility of creating youth brigades of solidarity with the Caribbean nation, and deepening dialogues to enable cooperation between Cuba and Kerala in various sectors.
On Tuesday, Gonzalez will exchange with students of Delhi University and Jamia Milia Islamia on visits to both higher education centers.
Later, in the evening, he will meet with representatives of the Committee of Solidarity with Cuba.
The president of ICAP began a visit to India, whose people have always supported the Caribbean nation in its struggle to defend democracy from the imperialist threats of the United States.
