Iranian delegation holds bilateral meetings in Cuba

Havana, Nov 4 (Prensa Latina) An Iranian delegation headed by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Seyed Sattar Hashemi, is visiting Cuba to attend the 40th Havana International Fair, which opened here today.

The Iranian entourage brings a bulky agenda that started prior to the event, considered the largest trade fair in Cuba.

The Iranian guests met with the Cuban Vice Prime Minister Eduardo Martínez, to discuss topics of common interest for both nations in a fraternal atmosphere, underlining the excellent bilateral relations, according to a press release.

As part of the program, Mohammad Ahmadi, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran and General Director of the Postal Company, and the Cuban Deputy Minister of Communications, Ana Julia Marine signed the Framework Agreement for Cooperation, strengthening relations between the postal sectors of both countries.

The delegation visited the Scientific and Technological Park of Havana, located on the campus of the University of Computer Sciences, where they were briefed on the projects that are being incubated there and the lines of business that they propose to develop with Iran.

On the subject, Minister Seyed Sattar Hashemi expressed that the relationship between the scientific and technological parks of Havana and Iran will be decisive in promoting the development of artificial intelligence and educational robotics.

He added that projects like these open spaces for the active participation by young professionals in Information and Communications Technologies.

They also toured the Mariel Special Development Zone in western Cuba, where authorities gave them details on the benefits of this important economic and commercial area, especially for foreign investors.

The Iranian visitors today participated in activities for Iran Day at Havana Fair, which will be running until November 9.
