This stance was voiced in a press release issued on the 107th anniversary of the so-called Balfour Declaration, which includes the promise of then-British Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour to give Palestinians their land to establish a state.
The Council held Britain and the international community responsible for what it called the crime of usurpation of the Palestinian land and condemned the Balfour Declaration and its legal and moral consequences until this day.
It demanded an apology and accountability for this historic crime.
The note underscored the need to thwart all colonial projects of Judaization and work seriously to regain national unity under the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the only legitimate representative of that people.
