Havana, Nov 2 (Prensa Latina) President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Saturday extolled the ties of solidarity and cooperation between Cuba and Algeria, in the context of the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the revolution in that African nation.

On his X profile, the head of State sent “warm congratulations to the people and government of #Algeria on this day of joy and national pride.”

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, in turn, expressed cordial congratulations to Algeria on the anniversary that marked the beginning of the war for independence from colonial France.

He also ratified the will to promote the historic ties of friendship, cooperation and solidarity between Algeria and #Cuba.

Algeria celebrated its national holiday on Friday with a grand military parade chaired by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The war for independence in Algeria took place from 1954 to 1962 and was a period of struggle by the National Liberation Front against French colonization, established in the country since 1830.
