In a meeting on the occasion of World Cities Day, the two leaders evaluated paths for cooperation between their nations in urban development, stated a report by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
Reza Amiri-Moghaddam praised Islamabad’s status as a green, beautiful and meticulously planned city, noting that Pakistan and Iran share a deep cultural connection.
The ambassador emphasized Tehran municipality’s interest in collaborating on projects with Islamabad, particularly in infrastructure development and solid waste management, where Iran has considerable experience.
The Pakistani diplomat described the CDA’s ongoing efforts to enhance the beauty and modernity of his country’s capital. He expressed his keen interest in learning from Tehran’s urban administration practices and welcomed the opportunity to collaborate on solid waste management and infrastructure projects.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen ties between Pakistan and Iran, with the hope that this cooperation will lead to valuable knowledge sharing and sustainable development in both cities, APP quoted.
