French President Emmanuel Macron made the remarks before the Moroccan Parliament during his official visit to Rabat, where French companies signed contracts worth 10 billion euros.

The Polisario Front, in turn, pointed out that Paris’s support would only lead to instability in North Africa and the Sahel states and an escalation of tensions in the region.

The Saharawi Information Ministry condemned Macron’s stance in the strongest terms, describing it as shameful, and recalled that it contradicts the United Nations (UN) Charter and its resolutions on Western Sahara.

The Polisario also noted that with this stance, Macron only encourages the Moroccan occupants to continue its dangerous adventure aimed at further expansion and changing the internationally recognized borders, attacking its neighbors and seizing their lands.
