For the first time a high-level segment for this type of event has been installed and the call brought to this southwestern city some high-ranking dignitaries, including the presidents of Armenia, Suriname, Ecuador and Guinea Bissau, the vice president of Bolivia and the head of Haiti’s Presidential Transitional Council, Leslie Voltaire.
The Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, also arrived in the capital of Valle del Cauca, and took the opportunity to thank the host country for holding the meeting and praised its commitment to achieve peace with nature.
In a meeting with President Gustavo Petro, the UN leader, highlighted the Government’s renewed focus on the implementation of the 2016 Final Peace Agreement with the extinct Revolutionary Armed Forces-People’s Army and expressed his support for ongoing efforts to consolidate peace through dialogue.
The rest of the dignitaries were also received by the Colombian ruler.
