China’s Commerce Ministry reported that Washington’s measures target sectors such as chips, artificial intelligence (AI), and quantum computing.
Beijing denounced in a press release the misuse of the national security concept to take discriminatory investment restrictive measures against China.
“Most of the industries related to these fields are not related to national security, all of them will be affected by the US ban,” the Ministry added.
The statement pointed out that this would disrupt the normal economic and trade cooperation between the two countries’ enterprises, which is detrimental to both sides’ interests.
Beijing, in turn, rejected the EC’s decision to impose additional tariffs on electric vehicles manufactured in this country.
