Saphon also rejected Cuba’s unjust inclusion in Washington’s State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list and confirmed the Group’s adherence to the global demand promoted in this sense by Progressive International group. (PI).
The statement, coordinated and issued by the PI in September and endorsed by lawmakers from more than 70 countries, condemns Washington’s designation of Cuba as a “State sponsor of terrorism” as “cynical, cruel, and a clear violation of international law.”
In an act of solidarity held at the Cuban Embassy in this nation, Saphon also expressed the commitment to strengthen the historic ties between Cuba and Cambodia and continue promoting bilateral cooperation and relations of friendship and understanding.
The Head of the Cuban Mission, Milena Zaldivar, in turn, gave examples of the impact of the tightened US economic, financial, and commercial blockade in several sectors of Cuban society.
Zaldivar particularly talked about the complex situation that Cuba is facing in the electro-energetic sector due to the instability of fuel supplies and other resources necessary for this strategic industry, as a result of the financial persecution caused by the US blockade.
