The event will take place for the first time in China on October 29 and 30 with the attendance of representatives from some 14 countries and the Caribbean island. As part of his agenda in China, Gonzalez paid tribute, along with the Cubans of the state mission here, to hero Camilo Cienfuegos on the 65th anniversary of his physical disappearance.

“Camilo, in addition to his qualities as a guerrilla, was a personality in the history of Cuba who left a very strong imprint for his characteristics and for that sense of loyalty and fidelity,” the Hero of the Republic of Cuba said.

Regarding the solidarity meeting with Cuba scheduled for tomorrow, he said that this meeting was resumed after a short interruption and its main focus is to strengthen the movement of solidarity with the island in this area of such importance for the world.

The meeting in Beijing is expected to be another forum to support the island and denounce the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States at a time when the Cuban resolution on the need to put an end to this hostile policy is being prepared for submission to the United Nations General Assembly.
