In a message to Cuba, the Sri Lankan group expressed support for the international solidarity with the Cuban Government and people in the face of the serious and complex energy crisis and the damage Hurricane Oscar caused in Guantanamo, Cuba’s most eastern province.
It pointed out that both Washington’s blockade and the unjust designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism were seriously affecting the island’s economic development in all sectors.
“As professionals who have studied in Cuba, we have full confidence in the ability and the commitment of the Cuban authorities to come out of these complex situations, and we call for unity and cooperation to overcome these difficult times,” the Association stated.
Its members called on the International Community to support Cuba and condemn relentlessly the US Government’s implementation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade.
We express, from Sri Lanka, our support and solidarity to the Cuban people, always confident that Cuba will go forward as it has always done.
