This contributes to food security, sustainable development and low emissions, Duc Tien considered when speaking at the 46th Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry of the regional grouping, held online and under the chairmanship of Myanmar.
The deputy official recalled that the recently held 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits adopted the bloc’s leaders’ declaration on promoting sustainable agriculture and acknowledged the Southeast Asia Action Plan drawn up with this aim.
As part of ASEAN, Vietnam actively and responsibly participates in mutual assistance in these fields, contributing to common outcomes, Duc Tien stressed, as he ratified his country’s support to achieving zero net emissions in agriculture by 2050.
In addition, the official added, our country attaches great importance to the ASEAN Strategy on Carbon Neutrality, and supports Malaysia’s proposal to build a regional vision on agriculture by 2045.
