Stability returns to central Cuban province after power contingency

Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, Oct 24 (Prensa Latina) Power stability in the country has positive effects in this central Cuban province, which manages to reestablish most of the production, service and mini-industry centers.

Deivy Pérez, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in the territory, noted the satisfaction observed in the population who applauds the heroism of the workers of the National Sports Union.

During the days of the contingency, creative resistance grew among people and families, values that I share, he said.

Pérez stressed that under those conditions, unity, sensitivity, solidarity, respect flourished, making us so great and keeping us standing.

He explained that microelectric systems were created and health services and water supply were guaranteed to the population in the main urban areas that later began to provide energy to the national system.

There were several actions in commerce, gastronomy, accommodation units, tourism, food sold in different formats, and donations were made by state and non-state management companies to guarantee care for the most vulnerable families.

Agricultural and productive units donated and prepared food to distribute, and with support from social workers it was taken to the homes of homeless, lonely people, surrounding them with care at critical times, added the political leader, the political leader pointed out.

He stressed that the population and institutions responded to the call from Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel to rise and apply extraordinary measures to face and overcome the contingency as taught to us by the Historic Leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.
