The decision came at the end of talks between Vice Foreign Ministers Pak Sang Gil (DPRK) and Nguyen Minh Vu (Vietnam), the news agency said.
The two sides agreed on a number of issues they dealt with during bilateral talks, such as expanding exchanges in various fields, it added.
This week, the DPRK’s top leader Kim Jong Un voiced his hopes to strengthen friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries “in line with the common cause of socialist construction and the interests of the two peoples”.
The wishes of the general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Committee came in a congratulatory message sent to newly elected Vietnamese President Luong Cuong.
The DPRK and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on Jan. 31, 1950, when the Indochinese nation was still fighting for independence and reunification.
