According to the Chilean Book Chamber, the aim is to bring the public closer to the literary richness of one of the oldest cultures in the world, thus promoting knowledge of and exchanges with that ancient civilization.

“We are very pleased with this contact with the People’s Republic of China because, along with fostering intercultural dialogue, it will create a space for collaboration that we hope will develop in the coming years,” the Speaker of the Chamber, Eduardo Castillo, said.

The event will run from November 8 through 17 and will be hosted by the traditional Estación Mapocho Cultural Center.

During 10 days, the public will be able to appreciate both novelties and classics, which touch upon a myriad of topics.

The event will also feature book launches attended by authors, readings, talks, workshops, puppet shows and storytelling.

The organizing committee recalled Filsa is an event that seeks to bring books closer to people, encourage reading and promote principles such as the free circulation of ideas, freedom of publishing and respect for copyright and intellectual property.
