At a meeting with the general secretary of the Cuban Workers’ Confederation (CTC), Ulises Guilarte, the parties identified favorable niches for cooperation and the development of union relations and between their respective parties, States and peoples.
According to Guilarte, the two countries are world leaders in building a socialist model where workers play an important role, which places unions, led by the respective Communist parties, at the forefront in mobilizing their productive forces.
He recalled that the trade unions of both countries signed a memorandum of collaboration in June 2023, laying the foundations for a coherent link with those existing at the highest level.
Nguyen Ngoc Huyen, in turn, recalled that the solidarity and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba, initiated by President Ho Chi Minh and Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, and cultivated over the past 60 years, has been promoted and developed further.
For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to give its blood, a phrase uttered by Fidel Castro, imprinted in the hearts of generations of Vietnamese, and which deeply expresses the brotherhood and friendship between our peoples since those years of fierce war, as well as in the construction and defense of our Homeland, he said.
The Vietnamese delegation arrived in Havana on Monday, at the invitation of the National Union of Construction Workers of Cuba.
