Ethiopian president receives UN secretary-general

Addis Ababa, Oct 22 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopian President, Taye Atske-Selassie, on Tuesday held talks with United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, on strengthening relations between the African country and this multilateral body.

“I received UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between Ethiopia and the United Nations, regional peace and security issues, and the need to enhancing multilateralism,” Selassie posted in a message on X.

The Ethiopian head of State also thanked Guterres for his leadership in the successful conclusion of the UN Summit of the Future held in New York, the United States, in September.

The UN chief co-chaired on Monday along with African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat the 8th Annual Conference between the two bodies, which reaffirmed their strong institutionalized partnership and commitment to dynamic and forward-looking cooperation.
