This body was sworn in on Friday with seven members out of nine that were to integrate it, but the president of the Presidential Transitional Council, Leslie Voltaire urged them to work as fast as possible with the commitment and conviction that this serious responsibility requires.
Interim Prime Minister Garry Conille stressed that the inauguration of the PEC marks an important and decisive step in the process leading to the organization of general elections in the country.
Earlier, Conille reiterated his commitment to focus on the holding of the elections in the Caribbean country, where there are several factors that will make this process complex.
The head of government indicated that the PEC will have the necessary equipment to operate and gain the confidence of the population through its implementation.
During his exchange of experiences with PEC members, he addressed the issue of the massive displacement of people to the provinces, which could complicate the holding of elections.
A team will work to find a solution and get everything under control before the polls, said Conille as quoted by Le National newspaper.
