The National Police published on its website that five individuals were also arrested in operations launched in Barrio Enriquillo and Palmarito sectors, in Barahona, about 190 kilometers from Santo Domingo, the capital, as well as in Jimaní, Independencia (west of the country).
A door-to-door search ended with the seizure of two 9-millimeter caliber pistols, a 12-gauge shotgun, 44 cartridges, five unregistered motorcycles (in a single home) and a homemade firearm.
The police also confiscated six loads of different narcotic substances, as well as cell phones and two knives.
Agents said that the detainees and the seized objects, including firearms without legal documentation, will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, for relevant investigations.
