Spanish, US intelligence linked to actions against Venezuela

Caracas, Oct 17 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, today linked intelligence agencies from Spain and the United States with terrorist actions and destabilizing plans in this country.

In statements to the press, the high Venezuelan official also announced the capture of 19 mercenaries of different nationalities and a group of high-caliber weapons (71), in different operations carried out in the national territory.

He stressed that those arrested are linked to leaders of the national extreme right such as María Corina Machado, Julio Borges, Carlos Vecchio, Yván Simonovis and the former Colombian president Álvaro Uribe (2002-2010).

Cabello stressed that Machado is aware of all the damage that these people intend to cause to the people of Venezuela and that is why “it is not convenient for him to assume it or say anything.”

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace described the National Intelligence Center of Spain (CNI) and the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States as “operational agents,” which he held responsible for the search, recruitment and supply of weapons for all operations.

He pointed out that the CNI is in charge of introducing mercenaries and weapons into the country, who then make contact with criminal groups with the objective of attacking strategic points, attempting to assassinate leaders of the Revolution and harming the people.

The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela revealed that as part of the investigations they were able to link a group of former police officers with Simonovis, who is a fugitive from justice and is involved in arms trafficking.

As part of his complaint, he revealed the complicity of US officials and agencies in the shipment of 500 weapons to the Bolivarian Republic and mentioned a certain alias Deivis, still unidentified, as responsible for these shipments through the company Century.

Cabello asked for the collaboration of all Venezuelans and considered the information they gave them to be “extremely important” because this is a fight for everyone.

He pointed out that so far the results of these operations have failed in their intention to destabilize Venezuela.
